Introduction to the EE
Every student enrolled in the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) must complete the extended essay. As a member of the EE Team and a supervisor, you play a critical part in students' performance and their first university-level research evaluation, regardless of whether you have previously supervised an EE or are taking on this position for the first time.

Criteria D Update
Guiding Reflection Writing
Engagement ( Criterion E) is solely reliant on written reflections and is worth 6 points. Writing proper, thorough and specific reflections is crucial to score highly here. Several EE supervisors of M24 Cohort have shared that reflections were mainly superficial, lacking specificity, analysis or evaluation. Merely descriptive reflections DO NOT earn high scores.
